This site has been created after a group member on my Tammy group suggested we have an in depth Tammy Site, just like my Sindy site. See link below.
Take me to Johnny's Sindy site...
This site will attempt to be the ultimate Tammy site, with details and pictures of everything ever produced for Tammy, it requires 'group' involvment, so if anyone can help out by taking clear pictures of Tammy, outfits, family, boat, juke box etc etc on a WHITE background, see link below for the general idea..
How to take white background pics...
The pics are a bit dark, pics sent to me should be nice and clear and bright, but you can see at least how it's done .

1962 and the world welcomes
                Tammy,
The Doll You Love To Dress
In 1962 the Ideal Toy Corporation released their latest doll, Tammy. A teenager with real teenage fashions. Tammy was the typical 'girl next door', sweet sixteen and innocent, miles away from Barbie, who was a busty, leggy fashion model. Tammy would appeal to mothers and children that wanted and loved pretty dolls and outfits.
Tammy's name may well have came from Debbie Reynolds and Sandra Dee, who both played the innocent teenager, Tammy in the movies.
ammy was sold in closed boxes with lovely line drawings ofher in various outfits on, she also came with a stand and a style booklet showing you all her outfits.
Tammy had a hollow plastic body and legs, and softer 'rubbery' arms and head, her hair came in various colours from blonde to brunette, with a lovely shade of reddy brown called 'Tosca inbetween...
Tammy was to lst a mere four years, most place endning sales in 1965, it's such a shame this beautiful doll didn't last longer, but thankfully Tammy and her oufits seem to have been made, and bought in great quantities, so we can still all own our very own, 60s teenager today.
